I used Frederic Fekkai Shampoo and Conditioner back in college and was totally in love. After awhile though, it started to break the bank since I was washing my hair daily because I was a dance major who literally was drenched in sweat all day haha. Not to mention, I had long hair that used up a lot of product. Plus, I chose to rather spend my money on cute new leotards for ballet class haha.
There are a ton of drug store brands that definitely give you the bang for your buck but after I gave birth to Scarlett, my hair was just always dry. So I took the plunge and bought the Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo and Conditioner in hopes that it would moisturize my postpartum hair. In the past, I used the Full Blown Volume combo and even though my hair still very much needs volume, it’s in dire need of moisture. The first time I used the Essential Shea products in the shower, it was seriously the most luxurious shower ever… I felt like I was a star in my own Herbal Essences commercial, lol!
I’ve seen such a huge difference in my hair since switching back to Fekkai hair products. My hair feels super moisturized and has less frizz. I even bought the PrX Reparatives Intense Fortifying Mask that I use weekly in place of the Essential Shea Conditioner. Yes, these are all pricey since they are salon hair products but they work so well for my recently parched hair! Oh and I only wash my hair every other day now, sometimes I can even go without washing it for 3 days. I just use Batiste dry shampoo in between washes and on the last day before I wash my hair, I throw it up into my signature hairstyle… the messy bun! 🙂
P.S. The candle I’ve been obsessed with (above) is “Saijo Persimmon” by Voluspa (my fave candle brand)… smells sooo amazing! And the nail color I have on is “You’re Such a Budapest” by OPI… perfect color for Spring!

What I love about my days off is being able to feed Scarlett breakfast like I usually do on the weekends. What she’s been loving lately is oatmeal mixed with yogurt and chopped bananas… yum! I’m a huge fan of oatmeal myself (except I like mine with just brown sugar) so I make myself a bowl and take turns feeding her and myself lol. Win-win!
I just use Quaker Oats old fashioned oats that I microwave with water. Then once it’s cooled down a bit, I add about two tablespoons of Annie’s Homegrown Organic Whole Milk “Berry Patch” Yogurt (she also likes the strawberry flavor). Since I don’t use the whole pack, I put the rest in a small container and then store in the fridge for next time.
Then I toss in the chopped bananas before mixing it all together. I only use about 1/4 of a banana for her oatmeal then I just eat the rest. She almost always finishes the whole bowl cause she loves it so much! When she’s almost done, I let her have a little fun and feed herself since she’s been obsessed with feeding herself! A little mess never hurt nobody right? Lol. Plus it gives me a little time to clean the kitchen while she she’s preoccupied… Fellow mamas, you know how precious “extra time” is haha! 🙂
So yeah, if you’re looking for a filling and nutritious breakfast option that’s super quick to make… this is Scarlett and Mama approved! Btw, I just got that spoon from Target recently. I love that it has a big rubber handle which makes it easy for Scarlett to grab and it’s also BPA free!
e.l.f. Brow Wand – Trish McEvoy Eyebrow Brush – Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara – Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brow Powder & Dipbrow Pomade
These are my go to eyebrow products that I’ve been using for awhile now. Love them! Here are the details:
- e.l.f. 1802 Eyelash & Brow Wand – I use this to prep my brows and brush them up before I fill them in. I also use it after I put the product on my brows to blend the color in and make them look more natural. The best part about this brow wand is that is only A BUCK and it totally serves its purpose!
- Trish McEvoy #32 Eyebrow Brush – Ok so this is a total splurge BUT I think it’s so worth it. I’ve tried cheaper eyebrow brushes and they just don’t keep its shape like this one does. I’ve had it for months already and it still feels like the first time I used it. It also picks up the product really well.
- Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara in “deep brown” – I love that this brow mascara comes in different shades. I use this as the finishing touch to hold my brows in place.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brow Powder in “Ebony”– This is my everyday eyebrow filler. The powder goes on smoothly and doesn’t smudge. It comes in 2 complimenting shades. The darker powder is to fill in the sparse areas of your brows and the lighter shade is for everything else.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in “Ebony”– Now this is what I use for special occasions like a night out or picture taking. It’s a highly pigmented cream that’s waterproof. Before I discovered the brow powder (above), I used this on the daily. I love this stuff!
If you’re on the search for new eyebrow products, those are definitely my current faves!
Dress: Janie and Jack (sold out) – Shoes: Old Navy – Bow: Nordstrom (in stores only; found similar)- Sunglasses: Target (sold out)
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday with your loved ones! We spent the day with my family in Temecula.
The weather was nice and warm so this green little number from Janie and Jack was perfect for the day! Plus the lime green just screamed “Easter” to me! Haha. I actually bought this from a friend awhile ago but it was way too big for Scarlett so I’m thrilled it finally fits her! It comes with matching bloomers too. I just love the halter top style… too cute!
Her little gladiator sandals are from Old Navy… duh! I literally cannot leave Old Navy without at least 2 pairs of shoes for Scarlett (which are usually on sale). I mean… how cute are those?!? Their shoes tend to sell out quickly so I got these a couple months ago and they are finally starting to fit her.
As for her accessories… her white oversized bow is from Nordstrom and those adorable sunglasses are from Target. I still can’t believe how long she kept them on! She even refused to take them off inside the house and she kept bumping in to everything… lol.
P.S. I am so excited to have this whole week off! I’m officially 31 weeks and baby boy is doing all sorts of karate moves in my belly!
Don’t worry, she wasn’t actually driving! Haha. It has a remote control option so someone else can control the car. She just sat there and enjoyed the ride… Lucky girl! She absolutely loves her new mini Audi. She yelled every time the car stopped moving and cried when we tried to take her out. At home, she loves to just sit in it while she snacks and watches her favorite show, Sofia the First 🙂 Btw, I totally have to make her a “SCARLETT” license plate!
Ever since my husband, Leo, saw a dad taking his son out for a ride in a remote control car like that a few months ago, he’s been wanting to buy one for Scarlett! So one night last week, he literally searched the internet for hours for the best option within our price range. I got a text at work the next morning saying he found this Audi R8 style on eBay (complete with an auxiliary cord for music and LED headlights) and that he was going to order it ASAP. My husband hates to shop and rarely spends money on material items (basically the opposite of me lol) so when he really wants something, I’m all for it! As much as the car is for Scarlett, it’s also for him LOL. When my sister-in-law found out that he ordered this for Scarlett, she chipped in a generous amount for her belated birthday gift for her (thanks sis)!
Check out the video I made of Scarlett riding in her new car alongside her body guard, our pitbull Knight… LOL I can’t!
