Ipsy “May 2016 Glam Bag” Review

What’s in the bag?

  1. PEEK Beauty nom nom natural lip plumping balm in “Miracle”
  2. Smashbox X-Rated Mascara
  3. BellaPierre Cosmetics Nude Gel Lip Liner Pencil
  4. Slmissglam Small Contour W07 Brush
  5. Etat Libre d’Orange Remarkable People Fragrance

Woohoo! Ipsy review time 🙂 The bag itself is okay. I prefer the purple version that they also gave out this month though. Plus, I like to use make-up bags with zippers since I feel like I could stuff more products in them without having to worry that they’ll slip out.

Ok so this balm is very sheer. It’s definitely not a lip product I would wear out because I like to have more of a natural colored tint for an everyday use. It does smell really good though, kinda minty. It wasn’t very moisturizing but it did make my lips feel tingly when I first put it on… maybe it was the plumping part? My lips felt fuller but I couldn’t see much of a difference.

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara

Hands down… this is my favorite product this month! I’m obsessed with trying new mascaras and this one was a hit for me. I felt that it really did make my lashes more volumized. What I did to achieve the look in the picture above was I curled my lashes, put on 2 coats of the mascara, let it dry, curl  again then put on one last coat. Love it! I may just have to purchase the full size version.

I love this lip liner! The color was on point on for me. It’s compliments my natural lip color so I was ecstatic about that. It goes on very opaque too… Great product!

Slmissglam Small Contour W07 Brush

This brush definitely gets an A+ for presentation because it’s SO cute! I love that the tips of the bristles are pink and I adore the rhinestone detail. It’s very soft so I will probably use it more as a blending brush than for actual contouring since I usually like to use a firmer brush to contour.

Etat Libre d’Orange Remarkable People Fragrance

The scent is on the stronger side and although it smells pretty good, it’s not for me. I like more of the flowery and romantic scents rather than the fruity/woodsy kinds. Does that make sense? Lol. Let’s just say, I’ll probably use it as a room spray instead. I wish you can smell the scent through the computer because I suck at describing how perfumes smell! Lol. Any way, the full size bottle is $149.00! Cray cray.

Overall, I wasn’t in love with this month’s glam bag buuut I didn’t hate it! As always, trying new beauty products is totally worth the $10 every  month. If you want to subscribe to Ipsy, click here!

  1. The Smashbox mascara looks like such a great product, your lashes look ah-mazing! I love that it’s a deep black and you can definitely see the volume it creates, without being clumpy; I’ll definitely have to try this one! I was a little bummed that you didn’t see a difference with the Peek plumper because upon seeing the photo, that was the one that caught my eye first, I love the packaging! Thanks so much for sharing your IPSY products with us and I hope you’re having a great start to your Monday so far, beauty!

    • Thanks Jalisa!! And right?! The balm packaging is SO cute and the color looks great! I’ll have to try it again. Hope you have a wonderful Monday love!! ❤

  2. I’m a die hard fan of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara! But your eyes look amazing in that picture so I may need to give it a go with a new mascara =) so hard to stray from the usual lol

    • Ooh I heard good things about that mascara! And girl, I totally agree! I never would try new products if it weren’t for Ipsy either cause I usually stick to what works for me!! Haha xoxo
