Contrary to what is seen on my curated IG feed, what my photo shoot days can get chaotic… lol. It might not be that surprising to fellow bloggers because I’m sure most of them go through it. A lot of the times, I opt for pictures outside our house just cause it’s much more convenient. But on the days that we go to different locations, that’s when it’s a different story. I try to do an outfit photo shoot day like twice a month so that I just have content stored and ready to post when needed.
So, the craziness starts off at home…
After doing my make-up which takes about an hour, I plan about 3-4 outfits along with the matching shoes and accessories to go with it. I stuff everything into one or two weekender bags and throw on my first outfit for pictures. I make sure I have my camera, an extra battery pack and my memory card (because yes, I’ve left my memory card at home before and found out right when we were about to take pics). Most of the days, we have the kids with us so I have to pack snacks, drinks and tablets. Leo and I have gotten into a groove that each outfit only takes 5 minutes tops! It actually takes longer changing in the car and driving/finding the perfect location for the next outfit. Mind you, when we have the kids, we have to find spots where we can park our car and literally take pictures right outside it. We typically try to get everything done in an hour since Leo works in the afternoon.
As soon as we step out of the car at a location, Leo literally starts shooting and clicking the camera non-stop and I just continue to change my poses. After a few minutes, we just run back into the car (I don’t usually look at the photos until home cause we are usually in a time crunch). As he is driving, I’m changing into my next outfit in the back while helping Leo scope out our next photo spot lol. When we finally get to our next spot which usually takes 10 minutes, then we repeat the whole process. After we’ve shot all my outfits, we treat ourselves to some fast food. Because duh, well deserved.
