Being stuck at home, got me feeling all sorts of creative so I decided to let the kids make DIY play dough! Anytime we make something, food or crafts, I have a really bad habit of assuming we have everything we need to make it, S.M.H. Lol. So I get the kids all excited to make play dough and I start taking everything out only to realize I’m missing one ingredient for the DIY Play dough… cream of freakin’ tar tar! Usually I’d run to the store or do a quick Target drive-up order but ya know sooo I figured there is no way I’m the only one in this predicament. I googled “DIY Playdough WITHOUT cream of tar tar” and cha-ching!!! It worked out great for us, even though I must admit that I thought it was going to be a fail half way through haha.
Here are the ingredients in the order I put it in (keep in mind, you may need to add more or less of each ingredient as you mix it):
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup of salt
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup water
- Food coloring (optional)
Honeslty, my eldest two had a blast!! If we were not in a quarantine, I probably would’ve never try to make play dough. They spent about 30 minutes making it then like 1.5 hours playing with. So awesome! I highly recommend 🙂
