I love fresh starts and there’s just something about a new week AND a new month on the same day! It’s so motivating. I think it’s super important to use days like this, I mean you can do this any day really, to write down goals you want to accomplish. As a mom, I can have a to-do list for a day and a lot of the tasks get transferred over to the next day. Setting monthly goals helps me not feel so overwhelmed while still challenging me since being a wifey, mama, dance teacher AND blogger can get crazy!
Here are my goals for this month:
- Blog twice a week on The Mama Queen – I started my blog when I was on maternity leave with Landon so that means I only had one kid and was off from work… I posted a blog post EVERY DAY! I wish I’m still able to do that but it’s unrealistic with my schedule. It’s been just a few times a month so I’m going to challenge myself to post AT LEAST twice a week.
- Be in better shape by the end of the month – I’ve been able to fit into my pre-baby clothes for awhile now but I want to get more toned like how I was when I used to teach dance and Pure Barre 24/7. Honestly, I want to continue to eat healthy these next couple months so I can binge eat on Thanksgiving and not feel guilty about it haha.
- Spend less time on my phone and be more present – This is so tough as a blogger because you really get out what you put in and that means spending a lot of time on your laptop or phone. My kids are growing so fast and these are the moments I want to remember the most. So I’ll definitely be putting my phone down (even if that means leaving it in another room for a couple hours) more and spending more time present with my family.
- Cook twice a week for my family – Ok, so let’s be real, my husband is the cook in our family and I have no shame about that! He serves me the most delicious meals so I want to return the favor. I already researched 2 recipes for this week and I’ll definitely share what I cook with you guys!
Well there ya have it! My goals for October… only 4? YES! Because I want my goals to feel attainable and to be reached by the end of the month. It’s important not to overwhelm yourself with crazy goals that you know you just don’t have the time for. I can easily say I want to post a blog post every day and cook every day but I know myself and I know my crazy schedule (remember I also have an hour+ commute to work) that I need to take it easy while still challenging myself. Alright, thanks for stopping by and reading! Now go be some #goaldiggers!
