It may still be a few months until swimsuit season but let’s be real, we have to start working now to get the summer bod we want!
Ever since ‘Fall Back’ I’ve been working out at home because it was too cold and got dark way sooner than I liked it. I didn’t want to have to haul my kids to the gym when it already feels like bedtime lol. I’ve been using the Future Fit app and it’s the coolest thing ever. It’s basically virtual personal coach and yes, it’s an actual person coaching you. My coach is based in San Francisco and she is coaching me all the way from there via the app. The workouts are tailored to fit your own personal fitness goals which is so awesome.
I’ve worked out at home occasionally but it was more a mixture of taking a class at the gym and doing a home workout when I don’t make it to the gym.
After doing the whole work(out) from home *cue Fifth Harmony* thing for a few months consecutively, I came up with a few tips to help you stay on track:
- If possible, get your workout done as early during the day as possible. I’ve been more consistent when I get the workout in sooner than later. When I decided to wait towards the end of the day, it’s bigger chance of me skipping out on the workout cause I’m “too tired.” Just get up and get it done!
- No matter how tired you may feel, just try and if you need to modify then modify… at least you got up and moved! Honestly, I don’t think I have ever regretted a workout, ever, but I for sure have regretted NOT working out. Do yourself a favor and what Nike said, just do it!
- Set a schedule and stick with it. On our regular day-to-day schedule, I always plan to workout at 1pm. My older kids are at school and Liam, my youngest, is having his lesson at home with his teacher so it’s obviously the perfect time to get it in without any interruptions or distractions. Look at your schedule and see what time works best for you and pencil it in. Again, I would try to fit it in as early as possible. But hey, if your schedule doesn’t allow you to get your workout in until 10pm or whatever, no big. Better late than never!
- Have someone to hold you accountable. Luckily with the app I’m using, I have a coach that checks in on me but you can have your husband, best friend or even your neighbor to hold you accountable and make sure you get it in.
Those are just some tips that work for me! Do you have any to share?! Lmk in the comments š
