Sweater: Brandy Melville – Jeans: Topshop Maternity – Necklace: Nordstrom (shared here) – Boots: Target (sold out)
Last night, the hubby and I went out to celebrate one of our good friend’s birthday at a bar and lounge in Downtown San Diego. Since we are about that parent life now, we rarely go out these days but if it’s a special occasion, we always make an effort to go. Plus, it’s always important to spend some time with just your spouse without the kid(s). Since it was a chilly night for us in SoCal (in the lower 50s), I opted to go for a warm, casual and preggo friendly outfit.
I just got this Brandy Melville sweater from Nordstrom and it was perfect for the night! I always try to buy loose non-maternity clothes so I can still get a good use out of them after pregnancy… especially during the first couple postpartum months when everything just all hangs out, lol. Sorry, TMI ,but gravity does takes it toll on that once firm baby bump! Brandy Melville has a ton of loose tops that are extremely comfortable as well. I literally bought 5 of their oversized shirts recently… one for each weekday! Lol jk. I do wear them a lot though and totally recommend them for all my fellow preggerz!
The jeans I wore are Topshop Maternity, the over the belly kind that I prefer over the elastic waistband ones. They are on the pricey side but the quality makes it worth it. Also, you don’t need a ton of maternity jeans any way so I think you’d be completely justified to splurge on a pair or two. I’m more of a leggings type of person on a regular basis though since I find them to be the most comfortable. I’ll be sharing my favorite pair of maternity leggings in a future post!
My cut out ankle booties are from Target that I got while I was pregnant with Scarlett. My feet grew a half size bigger then so I bought a few inexpensive shoes in a size 7 (thankfully my feet went back to their normal size a little after I gave birth). I was surprised at how much I wore and still wear these! They are my go to boots for work too cause they go with just about any outfit. I’m bummed they’re sold out at Target since I’m definitely due for a new pair ASAP. Yes, I love them that much that I would buy the exact same pair again! I linked a similar pair that I also own below.
Welp, Scarlett just woke up so that means blogging time is over for this mama. Thanks for stopping by!
